Old Warley Local
History Society, affectionately known as 'OWLS', was started at
Bleakhouse Library as a forum for reminiscences on the Warley area.
These have been collected into two books, 'Old
Memories of Old Warley', published in 2002 [available
as an
Adobe Acrobat file], and 'More Memories
of Old Warley', published in 2004.
The group is
currently studying the shops of Warley.
The
group meets monthly at 10.30 on the second Tuesday of each month
at Bleakhouse Library, Bleakhouse Road, Warley.
The programme
consists of talks and outings, and the group welcomes new members.
There is a charge of £1 per meeting or an annual fee of £6
for membership: meetings are open to all.
